Generative Engine OptimizationNEW

Get your brand recommended by AI.

Millions of buyers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude for recommendations instead of Googling. Traditional SEO doesn't move those answers. MentionLayer does — by earning the citations, reviews, and entity signals that AI models read when they pick which brand to name.

Why I Built It

SEO didn't die. Its centre of gravity moved.

A year inside Xpand Digital made it obvious: the same client whose Google rankings I'd compounded for a decade was now losing pipeline to brands ChatGPT happened to mention first. The traffic was still real. The intent was still real. The ranking surface was different.

I built MentionLayer because the existing "AI SEO" tools either tracked visibility without doing anything about it, or shipped content slop that AI models correctly ignore. Neither is what compounding off-page authority actually looks like.

MentionLayer treats Generative Engine Optimization the way real SEO was treated in 2014 — as an authority-building discipline, not a content-firehose. Citation Engine, Review Engine, Entity Sync, and PressForge stack to produce the off-page footprint that survives every model refresh.

The Stack

Five engines. One visibility layer.

Engine · 01

Citation Engine

Surfaces the high-authority forum threads AI models actually cite, then generates on-brand responses that earn placement without spam.

Engine · 02

GEO Tracker

Real-time visibility scoring across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude — so you know exactly where you appear in AI answers and where you don't.

Engine · 03

Review Engine

Amplifies user-generated reviews on the platforms LLMs trust as authoritative — the third-party validation that moves recommendations.

Engine · 04

PressForge Integration

Launches press coverage that AI models reference. Earned mentions on outlets the models index, not vanity placements.

Engine · 05

Entity Sync

Keeps your brand identity consistent across directories, knowledge graphs, and schema — the substrate AI uses to know who you are.

Built For

Brands, agencies, and resellers competing for the recommendation.

If your buyer asks an LLM "what's the best [your category]" and your competitor's name shows up first, you have a MentionLayer problem. Works as a standalone platform for in-house teams, or as a white-label layer for agencies adding GEO to their offering.

How It Fits

The off-page chapter of AI for Revenue, as a product.

The book argues that AI didn't replace the growth disciplines — it changed where they apply. MentionLayer is what that looks like for visibility: same authority-stacking logic, new surface.
